PhoneSoft PS_Desktop

PhoneSoft PS_Desktop is a client application that allows Notes users to listen to voice messages arriving in the Notes Inbox played back over their telephone. Typically, this application is associated with a Notes agent run by a button "Play by Phone" that you can find now in your Notes Mail database. The button is available from the Inbox Folder as well as on the Memo Form. When you press the button "Play by Phone", the utility will:

Call your Phone extension
Wait for a voice to answer. Typically you say "Hello" when you answer your phone
Play back the selected voice message
Hang up

To download the PhoneSoft PS_Desktop utility, double click on the attachment file that appears at the end of this document. As a result, Notes displays the Attachment Properties dialog box. To begin the installation, click the Launch... button in the dialog box.

The attachment is a self-extracting utility that installs directly to your desktop. After installation, start the utility by selecting the PS_Desktop application from the PhoneSoft group. You have to run it manually only once to configure:

Phone Number - your own telephone extension
PhoneServer Name - IP Address or machine name of the computer running the voice mail system

Once you have defined these settings you can close the application and start using the "Play by Phone" button available in your mailbox allowing you to listen over the phone to voice messages arriving from the voice mail system.
