Subject:Upgrading TTS Licenses
Category:Installation, PhoneServer, Text-To-Speech

PhoneServer manages how many TTS engines are enabled on a system. Each engine can support multiple phone lines. Some applications and some customers use more TTS than others. PhoneSoft's MailCall and Unified MailCall pricing includes exactly one TTS engine for every 4 MC or UMC ports. If a customer wants or needs more TTS than that, they must pay for additional engines. In other words, one TTS engine is included with systems of 1 to 4 ports, two TTS engines are included with systems of 5 to 8 ports, three TTS engines are included with systems of 9 to 12 ports, four TTS engines are included with systems of 13 to 16 ports, etc. Any number of engines may be purchased if a higher than normal TTS load is expected.

To enable additional TTS engines, you will need to purchase them from PhoneSoft and receive a license key from PhoneSoft.

Once you have the new license key, do the following to enable it:
- From the PhoneServer UI, select Edit / Configuration
- Select the TTS tab
- Enter your new TTS code into the "Key" field
- Click the "Upgrade" button
- The top line should then automatically change to say "Current TTS licenses: 2"
- Click OK
- Done!
